Where we got our Name

At the Southerned of the Sultanate and Facing the Arabian Sea, Lies the beautiful Dhofar region, famous for its mid climate and light rainfall, a tourist paradise. The garden city of Sablah is the most beautiful city of the region, its vast coconut plantation and freshwater springs, the bristling souqs and salutarious landscape leave a lasting impression on every visitor.

Apart from its natural beauty, Dhofar is very well known for its frankincense. "Jebalis" or the mountain people of Dhofar, continue to practice the centuries old art of producing francense, which is famous, the world over for its fragrance.

Dhofar is also famous for the golden sands of the beaches of Raysut, the ruins of the palace of the Queen of Sheeba, the remains of the ancient temple of the Moon God in the 2nd Century BC and the ruins of the town of the "Samharam".
